TEN REASONS TO BE OBSESSED WITH JUNA N JOEY

Juna N Joey is clarion-bell-ringing talent, and I don’t mean that literally, people. This sibling pop folk-rock duo out of Nashville is destined to be the next Generation Z break out of that town since Lil Nas X. Juna is seventeen and a triple Sagittarian, much wiser than she looks. And what she looks like is the baby sister, an ingenue to Jewel, with the looks and the voice to match. Her big brother, Joey, is nineteen and has a voice that would make a young Elvis proud. And, when he flutters those long lashes and takes his shirt off—not to mention that mullet of his—you realize that stage presence such as this is not the norm.

Juna N Joey will be capturing new fans across festival stages in the United Kingdom all summer long, where they will be on tour from Cardiff in Wales to Brighton in England. With roots in Christian Pop and an innate gift for musical arrangement, harmonies, and catchy lyrics of puppy love folk-rock, it’s no wonder the duo are YouTube superstars and streaming darlings on Spotify. So, here are ten reasons you all ought to be obsessed with Juna N Joey:

1- Talented and telegenic, they want to break through the old-fashioned way, by touring and remaining on the road. They’ve even turned down offers to appear on shows such as America’s Got Talent because they believe that one day soon Taylor Swift is gonna come calling for Juna N Joey to open her next tour—and we think so too.

2- Consider them a 21st-Century version of The Carpenters, the Grammy Award-winning brother/sister duo who ruled the Billboard Charts with their soft rock folk ballad classics like “We’ve Only Just Begun,” which Juna N Joey really ought to do
a Spotify cover version of.

3- Their twangy pop ballads, such as their latest “Drive Me Crazy” harks well for the
next breakthrough tune destined to go five-times platinum. It’s going to happen sooner than you think for Juna N Joey.

4- Last year they toured the U.K. with Twinny, who is said to be the next Halsey. Already seasoned veterans, these two have been doing gigs of all sizes across the country, from Nashville to Santa Barbara to Niagara Falls and everywhere in between. During this impromptu photo shoot with the legend Patrick McMullan in Washington Square Park, the kids sat down and simply started doing an acoustic set. In no time they had gathered an audience enraptured with their mesmerizing harmonies, melodies, and guitar riffs. They complete each other so well it is uncanny.

5- Rich, resonant, and compelling is the only way to describe Juna’s dulcet tonality.
I will keep saying it all the time—wise and instinctive beyond her years, she truly is the young Jewel reincarnate, that Nashville icon whom GW first met and interviewed 30 years ago.

6- Their Grandmama DeFeo was a noted opera singer in the South, and they have been home-schooled for the past four years.

7- They have over 60 million collective views on their YouTube Channel. Take a look at one of their classic videos, such as “Stay Young,” which is one of my favorites.

8- The future belongs to the liberated phrasing and chorus and harmonies of this dynamic sibling duo who compose and write it all on their own.

9- Juna tells GW that one dream they hope to make real before the end of 2022 is “to sing a few songs on The Today Show with Jenna & Hoda in Rockefeller Plaza.” Don’t you just adore her!

10- Disney+ streaming ought to build a next-level fly-on-the-wall GenZ-style variety
show around Juna N Joey. #gwsays
