Dear Musk, Can You Hear Me? Florida Gubernatorial Candidate Jayson Winer Just Wants His X Account to Be Free
Tequila company owner, Bitcoin activist and artist turned Florida gubernatorial candidate, Jayson Winer, who claims he is being unlawfully targeted by X Corp., which has blocked his access to the platform’s advertising tools, has a major tweet for Elon Musk. Winer, a staunch anti-Soros Republican, who is suing for an emergency injunction, feels at an extreme disadvantage as the move appears to be an attempt to silence his entire campaign, especially in an age when social media is a main source for reaching constituents by allowing potential voters to stay connected and informed. For Winer, the most egregious part of his treatment by X is that he has been repeatedly ignored without any explanation, in addition to being denied the ability to appeal. Winer’s complaint alleges that X blocked his ability to promote political content while citing unspecified policy violations, but failed to identify any violation or provide a path to compliance.
Winer, an Orthodox Jew with the Hebrew name Yerucham, who originally immigrated to the US from Israel, has been left without any explanation in regards to why his account was abruptly shut down. Not only does this go against his constitutional right to the freedom of free speech, he feels the move is almost just as taunting to Tesla founder Elon Musk, who purchased the social media giant to protect that very right. Their particular political stances also couldn’t be more aligned, as Musk has been just as vocal about his distrust of George Soros. He believes that “heads would be rolling” if the CEO of SpaceX knew what was really happening at his own company.

“During an active election, every day matters,” said Winer.
“Platforms like X are supposed to expand open communication, not restrict access without explanation or any path to appeal,” he continued.
Winer’s filing, which was made in the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, seeks an emergency court order requiring X to either restore access to advertising tools or provide a clear explanation and review process.
The Miami-based entrepreneur turned gubernatorial candidate, first activated his account on X in 2024 under his artist’s name, Mr. Black, which features NFT art which goes against the Deep State – especially Soros and the establishment. However, since running for governor this year, he hasn’t been able to disseminate any information, which is already having a major impact on his campaign.
“I wanted to advertise and X wrote me saying ‘you are violating our advertising policy and you can no longer advertise,’” said Winer.
“There was no option to appeal, so I tried opening a different account, and the same thing happened,” he continued.
“I’m alt-right and very conservative, so this seems quite targeted.”
After first being told his payment method had failed and begging to pay, he was completely ignored, with no further ability to open a discourse or take action. While he wasn’t looking to fight a battle he couldn’t fight, he attempted to reach Elon, especially after not being given the option to appeal. For Winer, this lawsuit isn’t about money, it’s about getting his voice back.
“It’s key for me to build my base and to advertise within X. I know that Elon didn’t spend billions of dollars to silence anyone, especially someone with my type of campaign,” he said.
