6 Leading Siding Contractors Serving Philadelphia And Southeastern Pennsylvania
Key Takeaways
- Siding selection should consider moisture control, durability, installation quality, and appearance, not just curb appeal.
- Philadelphia-area homeowners can choose from fiber cement, vinyl, composite, stone accents, and other siding systems.
- Contractors differ in experience, service areas, manufacturer affiliations, and related exterior services.
- Five Star Contractors offers siding along with roofing, windows, doors, decks, patios, and stucco remediation.
- Before hiring, compare siding brands, profiles, trim, housewrap, flashing, substrate repairs, warranties, and installation practices.
- Ask whether the written estimate includes removal, disposal, permits, repairs, cleanup, and final inspection.
- Historic Philadelphia properties may require additional approval before exterior siding changes.
- Homeowners should obtain at least two or three detailed proposals and compare the complete scope rather than price alone.
Choosing new siding is about more than improving curb appeal. The right exterior system can help manage moisture, protect wall assemblies, and refresh an older home’s appearance through Philadelphia’s humid summers, winter freezes, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Whether you own a city rowhome, a Main Line Tudor, or a Chester County Colonial, it pays to compare materials, installation practices, warranties, and the contractor’s experience with related exterior work. This list highlights established companies serving Philadelphia and nearby counties. Each was considered for its stated service area, siding material selection, manufacturer affiliations, length of experience, exterior-remodeling capabilities, and willingness to explain important details such as trim, housewrap, flashing, substrate repairs, and warranty coverage.

What To Ask Before Hiring A Siding Contractor
- Which exact siding brand, profile, color, trim, and accessories are included?
- Will the estimate address damaged sheathing, rot, or moisture discovered after the tear-off?
- How will housewrap, flashing, penetrations, windows, doors, and roof-wall intersections be handled?
- Who will perform the installation, and what artistry warranty will be provided in writing?
- Does the price include removal, disposal, permits, trim, cleanup, and final walkthrough?
For homes listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places, exterior changes may require review by the City’s historic-property approval requirements before committing to a profile, color, or replacement scope. When comparing James Hardie specialists, the manufacturer’s contractor search tool can also help confirm local program affiliations.
Final Takeaway
All six companies offer useful strengths for Philadelphia-area siding projects. However, Five Star Contractors stands out as the strongest overall choice because it combines 26 years of regional experience, wide service coverage, multiple siding systems, high-level James Hardie credentials, and the ability to coordinate major exterior improvements under one roof. Request detailed written proposals from at least two or three qualified contractors, then compare the full installation scope—not just the bottom-line price.
