Zarah: Conquers the World
By W.A. Muller
Zarah, renowned Filipino-American TV Personality, Writer, Producer, and Recording Artist known for her work performing with the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, is channeling grief into her creativity and service with her upcoming non-profit.
After her late husband Gene Maillard’s passing in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zarah decided it was time to channel her grief into action and launched her charity. It is inspired from her edutainment branding (educating+entertaining) targeted for teens, founded by Zarah. It was from this platform that B Intune TV, a syndicated television show that documented the early careers of Beyoncé, Ashlee Simpson, Alanis Morissette, and others, premiered in 2005.
Her husband, Gene Maillard had 45 years of advancing music and arts education as the CEO of Very Special Arts (VSA) at the Kennedy Center and as the former Executive Director of the GRAMMY Foundation among others. After suffering such a devastating loss, Zarah is now committed to carrying on Gene’s legacy, and continuing the crucial services that she will continue to bring to children around the globe.
Partnering with programs from major institutions, her non-profit will have their annual celebration to advance the cause and values highlighting humanitarian efforts for children around the world. The charity’s goal is to proliferate edutainment among today’s youth through media, fostering a love for music, the arts, creative education, and entertainment.
A contributing writer for her television show B InTune TV for many years, Zarah wrote her first book Diamonds Are For Cocktails, a glamorous murder-mystery thriller after experiencing life in the French Riviera. After spending much time on the French Riviera, she never saw beauty the same way again. She followed up her book with a screenplay named after her Novel.
