The Osprey: A Flavorful Farm-to-Table Vibe and Vision

The only things that can rival the scenery from 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge are the satisfyingly scrumptious plates at the hotel’s Osprey Restaurant. Here you can enjoy American comfort food reimagined and inspired by the global diversity of New York’s neighborhoods amidst an atmosphere which is reminiscent of being in nature – and tasting its fresh flavors.

Located on the first floor of the hotel, the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining options with a magnificent view of the East River. The cozy chic interior, centered on a feeling of openness with windows bringing in as much natural light as possible, plus wood-colored furnishings and green plants hanging on the ceiling, has a vibe which matches their market-to-table vision.

A winner of Chopped Champion on Food Network’s Chopped, Executive Chef Denevin Miranda remains focused on fresh, locally sourced produce. Inspired by his grandmother’s respect for traditional Filipino cooking, this talented chef and Long Island native, known for his skillful techniques, became a foodie at a young age before bringing his mouthwatering training to Miami until eventually joining 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge in 2019. Miranda is now in charge of all dining experiences at this hot spot hotel, including Neighbors, as well as Harriet’s Rooftop and Lounge.

The Osprey offers menus for all-day dining, as well as dinner specialties including Cauliflower Tangine, made with couscous, chickpeas, preserved lemon and mint; Venison Shank, which is seductively braised with red wine and served with currants, carrot puree and Parisian Gnocchi; Bison Strip Loin, with celeriac-apple puree, wasabi-brown butter spinach and house steak sauce, and Long Island Duck, featuring duck confit, lumpia, cranberry, orange, kohlrabi-potato gratin and coriander. Their famous Rotisserie Half Chicken is a tasty take on the classic dish and made with heritage poulet rouge, jerk marinade, “dirty” rice and seasonal vegetables. Delectable desserts include Yuzu-Lemon Cheesecake and Bread Pudding, made with orange, cranberry, pistachio, and Grand Marnier crème anglaise.

Our favorite course, of course, is the Caviar Menu, which is dedicated to locally sourced caviar that can also be paired with the perfect glass of bubbly. To be inclusive to all diners with different dietary needs, the menu offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, modified vegetarian and modified vegan plates. In accordance with their sustainability efforts, the majority of their ingredients are sourced from local farmers and fishermen.

Treat yourself after a long day with their Sip & Savor and Wine Down Wednesday specials, plus mouthwatering brunch bites. Just don’t forget to “Cheers!” to a tasty time with a signature cocktail overlooking Brooklyn Bridge Park.
