The Cornell Lab of Ornithology & Enthusiast Hotel Collection Partner to Offer Birders a New Home

Enthusiast Hotel Collection is pleased to announce their new partnership with the renowned Cornell Lab of Ornithology, offering birders the chance to become familiar with and seek out the local species that live in and around the six properties in the group, which span from the West Coast to the Caribbean. This unique collaboration will help hotel guests discover the hundreds of bird species around them and better connect with the natural world and with other birdwatchers during their stay. Bird enthusiasts who visit EHC properties will be able make use of this valuable network to explore birds in California (Brewery Gulch Inn), the Bahamas (A Stone’s Throw Away), St. Lucia (Cap Cove), North Carolina (Historic Tapoco Lodge), Maine (Hartstone Inn), and Florida (Casa Morada).

“We are excited to announce our partnership with Enthusiast Hotel Collection,” says Mary Guthrie, Director of Corporate Partnerships at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. “Whether guests are lifelong birders or just getting started, our resources are designed to inspire and spark a deep connection with nature.”

Enthusiast Hotel Collection Founder Oneil Khosa continues, “We’re thrilled to help enhance the enjoyment of birds for guests at all our hotels and give them the tools and resources to build memories that last forever. We are very proud of our partnership with the Cornell Lab.”

To provide a truly unique experience to the millions of birders in the U.S., the properties in the Enthusiast Hotel Collection will connect guests who are bird-watching enthusiasts with local experts. By integrating this program into the hotel collection, birders can expect professional guidance and curated tours of birds at all the properties. Guests will be able to study migration patterns, nesting rituals, and more on educational walks, and learn about each area’s local efforts to protect vulnerable species.

Pre-arrival, visitors to the hotels will be able to take fun and engaging online courses from the Cornell Lab’s Bird Academy to help prepare for their next birding adventure. Consider Merlin Bird ID app to get help identifying birds by sight and sound, or submitting bird sightings online through the Lab’s eBird platform or the eBird app to help scientists tracking the health of bird populations.

Founded in 1915, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology enjoys an international level of acclaim and academic respect and appreciation for its work studying birds and paving the way for current and future global conservation efforts, and is a member-supported, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and protection of the natural world.
