It is not a DLC or update, but an entirely new game that continues from the lore of Elden Ring. The game will have similar features to the original, but it is not the same. About The Map in Elden Ring Nightreign

The new Elden Ring Nightreign map covers the whole of Limveld. It is filled with possibilities unseen and adventures not set out on. The layout is like the previous game, but small changes accompany the new version. Once you load the game, you can see various icons on the map. These icons denote different locations within the map. However, secrets and small camps are not reflected on the map. You will see them on the map after fulfilling certain objectives.

Each location, each interactive point of interest, will give a different experience. The possibilities are not set in stone. Granted, there will be changes in the final version or the release version of the game. We will only get to know the actual point of interest after the release of the game. For now, let’s understand what these icons mean.

Key Locations in Limveld

The key locations refer to the points on the map that reward you with goodies or interactives. These locations get you Elden Ring items and related, which play a crucial role in the gaming experience. The image shows the various icons; here is what each icon means:

Township – Location of the town.
Church – You can get a Sacred Flask upgrade when you interact with the Altar. It can only be used once for every expedition.
Fort – This place holds a mini-boss and gives you a map showing secret locations.
Great Church – Similar to the fort, houses a mini-boss and gives you the location of hidden secrets.
Sorcerer’s Rise – A small structure with a puzzle and rewards.
Old Sorcerer’s Rise – A slightly larger structure than the previous one. It gives the same user experience and rewards.
Main Encampment – Houses a mini-boss. It is the Merchant and the Blacksmith.
Ruins – Houses a mini-boss and has scattered hidden chests.
Gaol – This place has a mini-boss. You receive a good amount of runes on defeating the Gaol boss. But, you will need a Stoneword Key to interact with the place.
Castle – This place has many mini-bosses and many hidden loot chests.

Field Info Icons in Elden Ring Nightreign

These icons represent other interactive elements in Limveld. They can be objectives, enemies, or other utilities. Some locations are available after meeting certain criteria. Here is what each of the icons means:

Grace – It appears when you defeat a mini-boss. When you interact with it, you can heal, level up, and replenish Sacred Flasks.
Spectral Hawk Tree – Used to summon the Spectral Hawk.
Spiritstream – You can jump higher when you interact with it. Proper usage allows you to travel far distances or scale up cliffs and walls.
Field Boss – The location of a mini-boss.
Scarab – It shows that a Scarab is hiding in that location. You will get rewarded for killing it. These icons only appear on the map after finding a map in a Fort.
Mission Objective – Spots that are important to progress your current mission.
Tunnel Experience – Entrance to underground caves. On exploring them, you will get Smithing Stones.
Buried Treasure – A hidden treasure.
