David and Jackie Siegel Join Forces with Priscilla Presley for Victoria’s Voice Foundation Gala, Featuring Broadway Star Patti LaBelle’s Captivating Act

“I just wanted to say how honored I am as a mother to be able to present such a distinguished award and be there for Priscilla Presley in the wake of her recent losses and her family’s struggle with drug addiction.  It meant so much more to me as a mother who lost a daughter – as a mourning mother – to be there for her”

Priscilla Presley, the acclaimed actress and former wife of Elvis Presley, was recently honored at the Victoria’s Voice Foundation Music For Life Gala. At this significant event, aimed at raising awareness and funds to fight America’s opioid crisis, Presley received the Legacy Award. The ceremony took place at a private estate in Palm Island, Florida, as reported in a foundation press release.

The award was presented to Presley by Jackie Siegel, known as the ‘Queen of Versailles’. Jackie, alongside her husband David Siegel—founder of Westgate Resorts—co-founded Victoria’s Voice Foundation in 2019, following the tragic loss of their 18-year-old daughter, Victoria Siegel, to a drug overdose in 2015.

Expressing her gratitude and determination, Presley commented, “This award inspires me to continue advocating for those impacted by addiction, and who live every day in fear that their loved ones will be taken from them.”

Presley also acknowledged the Siegels’ efforts, saying, “I am incredibly moved by how David and Jackie have turned their painful loss into a force for good and giving back.”

Presley received the award in front of roughly 300 attendees, and Siegel said she was being honored for her resilience that has “not only touched our hearts, but has shown us the true power of the human spirit. Her journey and legacy is one of unwavering determination and a testament to the indomitable human will, and we’re honored to be there for her.”

The event included a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, and a private concert by Grammy Award-winner Patti LaBelle, the “Godmother of Soul.”

Victoria’s Voice Foundation focuses on drug prevention education, naloxone awareness, and providing support and resources to those affected by substance use. It honors the memory of Victoria ‘Rikki’ Siegel, who struggled with drug abuse and tragically passed away in 2015.

Jackie Siegel revealed her daughter’s battle in a moving introduction to Victoria’s diary, published in 2019. Titled “Victoria’s Voice: Our Daughter’s Losing Battle with Drug Abuse,” the diary was a hidden account of Victoria’s struggle, unknown to her parents until her passing.

The Siegels’ story, including their family dynamics and Victoria’s challenges, was also featured in the 2012 documentary film, “The Queen of Versailles.”
