All Hail Maxjenny! The Queen of Prints
The queen of prints, Maxjenny Forsuland, founder and designer of maxjenny! debuted her Spring/Summer collection at the Swedish Consulate during her first New York Fashion Week this year and she is still keeping things colorful. Known for her bold designs, Maxjenny, who debuted her label in 2017, is inspired by everything from trash cans to church ceilings. According to the Swedish designer who is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the most important thing is for the wearer to feel joy and be energized when they put on her pieces. “You will feel empowered, straighten your back, take extra leaps,” explains Maxjenny. “It’s like taking green juice or vitamins and people get stopped on the streets.”
Her latest collection which features vibrant colors and fun lines is composed of bits of pieces from over the years. “It’s really about sustainability because I have prints from 2017 to the latest ones and when you see everything together it’s like unity.”
All prints, which she now sells around the world, are designed and executed by Maxjenny in her studio with a digital camera, pencil and computer. Combining high-end craftsmanship and a sculptural silhouette, her namesake clothing line is designed for an international and contemporary-demanding audience. Each garment is carefully crafted with ethical handmade production with traditional design techniques to retain a timeless expression of modern clothing.
“Fashion should be playful, which is why I strive to create bold collections of clothing and accessories with an artistic approach. My designs represent life at its best, translated into patterns and prints.”
With fans including Madonna, this womenswear line which is meant for those looking to make a statement, is just getting stated.
