Artist Piotr Bak’s Charismatic Interpretations Captivate Worldwide Audiences
Piotr Bak is an artist who is more than just a creator – he is a force of nature that you cannot deny.
Recently having exhibited at Miami Art Basel, his buzzworthy work was a highlight at Glo Creative Gallery at 800 Collins Avenue in South Beach. The successful show personally curated by Michael Glovaski had tastemakers, celebrities, and art collectors alike raving about the captivating exhibit that was a perfect way to launch the 2022 art scene in style.
Born in Poland, Bak originated from Żywiec and studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. It was the launch that allowed him to openly express his natural talents. As a gifted young artist, it was here that he received his diploma with a medal at the Studio of Designing of Industrial Forms with Professor Jerzy Wuttke. From there starting in 2004, he assisted at the Studio of Drawing and Painting with Jan Dubiel until in 2015 when he became the head of the Visual Arts Studio.
His professional success has reached across worldwide platforms in over 70 group exhibitions that includes 17 solo shows. Bak’s emphasis stands out as a complex layering of artistic interpretation of elements, as well as people’s attitude towards tradition, culture and religion. The creator’s work focuses on large scale virtuoso graphic matter created on density fiberboards, which is the signature setup of his overall designs.
Bak incorporates forms that we can easily identify evenly mixed with those that are less recognizable without artistic fulfillment. Layered with hidden metaphors, Bak’s work relates to current events, mythological themes, spontaneity, and even deep psychological self-expression.
“My subsequent journey inside myself was a slow but honest and true process, I think. My imagination is constantly being developed by the world in which I live, the world in which the superior
source of inexhaustible inspirations is the human being,” Bak reflects. “Originally, the human being was important for me in the anatomic sense and as a means for improving my technique, in which the real emotions were hidden beneath an aesthetic and formal stratum. With time, the realistic aspect of my work becomes less important in stimulating my imagination, but rather gives place to a different perception of the human being. I became interested in a man from an ontological point of view.”
Beyond his own art, Bak has additionally authored numerous projects where he discusses drawing and painting techniques. He is also a teacher who constantly inspires students at the Technical University in Katowice and the Drawing and Graphic Arts Study at MOK in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
There is very little that this accomplished individual has not done in the art world. His career continues to ignite passionate collectors and holds intense viewership around the planet. It is thrilling to think about what his next adventure will be as 2022 turns into the year that continues to focus on extraordinary appreciation for art movements.
